ARTIST STATMENT
Influenced by her background as an educator and mentor program manager, Christen’s work involves interacting and connecting with people (friends, family, and strangers), and coordinating of events. She inserts herself into others’ experiences and spaces. This happens in her investigation of childhood bedtime memories, and creating mascots for art museums across the country. The Nationwide Museum Mascot Project’s venues include Chicago, San Diego, and Jefferson City.
