ARTIST STATEMENT I work with collage. I use drawing, photography, paint, and paper to convey emotionality through texture and color. I attempt to suggest patterns of repose, wonder, and sometimes folly through the blending, layering, and juxtaposition of these materials. I attempt to suggest experience as observance; distinct, though not separate, from life. I use photographs and paint to gather and reconfigure these observances on paper. I hope to convey specific moments, especially through texture and color, which strike me as miniscule rites of both joy and jest.
